OMG...one might think that the AD is...incompetent!

To be fair :-) ....

I'd like to know what % of the CY spend was labor? That's one of the few levers in the AD position's grasp.

Loan payments, interest payments, etc....can't shirk those obligations.

It's very sad, but non-essential positions need to be eliminated and/or combined...if Ucla is committed to running the Athletic Department in a responsible way.

My assumption is that the AD should run on a balanced budget. The federal budget isn't a valid comparison, because there ALL societal members are borrowing now to create assets today that will yield benefits over time that will produce a positive NPV for ALL societal members.

The Ucla AD benefits a very, very, very small number of people (relatively speaking)...and getting smaller with each year.
