UA pulled out shortly after they pushed out their founder Kevin Plank in January 2020. Plank made the deal with Ucla and his successor quashed it. Standard corporate behavior when a company is under duress as UA was at that time. Their stock was down 70% from where they announced the deal to where they quashed it. Duress.
Chip Kelly had zero to do with it. He had arrived only the previous year.
