Dodgers also gave up little for Flaherty, Edman and Kopech.

Who do you think we traded for Flaherty? Thayron Liranzo and Trey Sweeney. Heard of those guys? Liranzo hit .244 in Rookie and A ball this year and Sweeney hit .218 for Detroit.

Who do you think we gave up for Edman and Kopech? Miguel Vargas who hit .104 in 42 games for the White Sox, Jeral Perez who played in A ball this season and Alexander Albertus who was very good in Rookie league but hit only .229 when promoted to A. One dud and two players who are two years away from being two years away.

On the other hand, the Padres traded three prospects for Arreaz, two of whom are projected to make the majors next year. They also traded several pitching prospects for Cease, unlike the Dodgers who only gave up position players in their trades.
