His assertion is that most races are not competitive. So Dems (and pubs) are free to be as extreme as they want to be. They just need to get the party nomination, and the general will basically take care of itself.
Donors give more to candidates who are at the extreme end of the spectrum. So as long as you have the stomach to dance with the devil, 86% of the House races are pre-ordained. Just don't get primaried. Or lose your soul. Whatever's left of it. (See: Stefanik, Elise)
It was very disgusting to watch countless "Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you" attack ads during every live sporting event in the last 3 or 4 months of the 2024 campaign. JD Vance is going to do the very same thing in 2028 unless the Dems do something like focusing on protecting the rights of trans people when it comes to employment rights, education rights, and protection from hate crimes and relax the fight on trans athletes as one possibility.
