But I think the simpler explanation (occam's razor) is that dems have no insight into the white male psyche.
At the dem national convention, there were no young white males featured. Cuz let's face... most white guys are unappealing. I'm never more uncomfortable than when I'm in a room of white guys. I cringe thinking about what "hot take" is going to pop out any second now. If there are nine of us, odds are six voted for Trump. Urp.
But white people are still 70% of the electorate. As disenfranchisement takes (further) root, that % could go up. It's a basic math problem whose only solution (from the good guys pov) seems to be rethuglicans fvcking up on such a massively historical level that, yeah, the dems will take power but they will inherit another 2008... or far, far worse.
