They are both bright, sensitive, musical types. My Gen-Z kid (16) is fairly woke and so are his friends. Maybe slightly less stringent and performative in their political correctness than older Gen-Z and Millennials, but very caring, human rights focused, and nowhere close to manosphere types. They are very socially awkward though, and were absolutely negatively impacted by being forced online for almost two years right as they were entering adolescence.
My 12 year old is very very sharp and mature for his age. I wouldn't say his friends are nihilistic, but they express and carry a sense of doom regarding their futures. I've heard them dispassionately discussing being one of the last generations of humans and he and his friends believe that it's likely that they will live to see the end of humanity. :(
