I think I like Meddle at the second place on my personal list. It's not just that the albums in between are overplayed in the media, but there's something about the tones they hit on Meddle (including Echoes), that sour, somewhat melancholic tone structure of the melodies is a direct hit for me.
Mixed feelings about The Wall. I like most of the songs on an individual basis, but to me Floyd calls for a full on, album experience, and on that level, I think I was never able to get over the fact that it followed the fully immersive Animals, and has always come across to me as a bit of a drop off, IMO.
