On various forums, including this one, for a few years after 2008 (and occupy Wall Street) many progressives took the position you could't talk about stocks, except for not friendly takes about stock ownership. Obama couldn't use the restoration of market averages in his 2012 run, as it would upset too many progressives.

Now, destruction of stock averages by Trump is fair game.
