In my lifetime, I have never seen a HC do what Chip Kelly did to Ucla, the players, and what was left of a coaching staff. I've seen coaches check out, have mental breakdowns, etc, but what Chip Kelly did went way beyond anything that deserves any kind of respect.
CDF had another job and really was the more likely choice given the f'ed up circumstances. Ucla didn't replace Kelly with CDF.
The reality is if Ucla starts the year with a 2-3 record, that is going to be pretty decent. I am still seriously concerned about being healthy enough to have a team that's competitive enough for the remainder of the year. We can thank Chip Kelly for that.
