Sorry

Nice guy

Loves Ucla

Knows fvck all about football

Total imposter

The definition of "fake it till you make it"

Ucla used every possible personnel group under the sun with chip Kelly. Except for a 0x group. Chip always had at least one RB on the field every play.

Ucla used every possible formation under the sun. 2 x 2 open edges. 3 x 1 nub. Bunch. Swinging gate. Come on. Did this asshat ever WATCH a game? (Or is he just clueless? Probably the latter.)

Chip Kelly mentioned in interviews that "RBs have paths, OL have rules, and receivers have concepts"

One such concept is "all verts". Air Raid calls it 96. (6 because this concept produces touchdowns.) All verts was the 2nd most called pass concept in the chip Kelly era. Only Y-Cross was called more often.

In this concept, 4 receivers go straight up the field. Two receivers go up each sideline, ideally getting no closer than 5 yards to the boundary.

The two other receivers go up the seams.

EVERY receiver has to make a read: can I beat my guy deep? The qb has to make the same read... for all 4 guys! Hard to do simultaneously.

The outside guys have the option to break off their vertical route and run a "come back" at about the 15 yard mark. I'd say that Ucla QBs have ended up throwing this come back route about 70% of the time all verts was called. Ucla's wide outs rarely beat their man deep.

One inside receiver could convert their vertical to a post. The other inside guy could convert his vertical into a post or a basic (aka, a deep in or a "dig" route).

So we can see that Ucla has been running a TON of "concept-based pass plays with many variations" for the last 6 years.

IOW, this is all new to the writer. But not at all new to Ucla's players.
