and back at the time of Howland's hiring he predicted much of this, saying Howland's ego will be his undoing and people found him difficult to deal with - that he indeed alienates people. IMO the man could coach. He was excellent and there's no denying his accomplishments. I didn't like some of the things he did philosophically, but he did get great results doing things his way - that is until his personal flaws caught up with him.
