In his latest analysis, NCAA college basketball analyst Andy Katz categorized the new-look Big Ten conference into three tiers based on each program's potential for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
He placed Purdue, Indiana, Ohio State, UCLA, Rutgers, and Illinois in the top tier. (I would put Michigan State here and take out Rutgers and Illinois.)
Katz placed Wisconsin, Oregon, Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern, and Nebraska in the second tier, Big Ten teams competing for an NCAA tournament berth. (I would put Iowa here and take out Northwestern and Nebraska.)
In the third tier are USC, Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, Iowa, and Washington, which Katz believes have work to do to climb up the ladder.
