The top coaches in the country weren't their schools' Plan D the last time the job opened up.
The defenses of Cronin are truly remarkable given how little he's actually achieved at UCLA (and in his career more generally), especially when compared to much better UCLA coaches.
But this next season should help clarify what remains difficult for so many here to see: Cronin is in over his head and has exercised unbelievably poor judgment in changing his roster management strategy.
