Despite everybody sort of weirdly proclaiming with AUTHORITY that what he did was legal, what he did was, according to what, the actual rule, clearly illegal. Here's the rule: "It is interference by a batter or runner when they fail to avoid a fielder who is attempting to field a batted ball, or intentionally interfere with a thrown ball."
"...or intentionally interfere with a thrown ball."
Which he clearly did.
So not sure why all the indignant lecturing. Strange.
(my favorite was, 'well Manny had his back turned so he didn't know where the throw would be coming from.' Well, yeah he did, that's why he intentionally ran the route he did).
