Theirs is the power of the purse, I'm told. Probably also lawmaking. But if this project is being financed through means that circumvent the federal budget, the only tool they have is to write a law, which under the best circumstances, would take forever to pass, or be shelved indefinitely.
OTOH, a judge can simply drop their gavel and order the whole construction to be stopped, and they can do this the next day, in principle, and demand that the correct procedure to be followed. The only branch we have that can meet real time developments is the judiciary.
I don't know the history of this whole slow-moving wreck (because it's moving so slow that it's hard to keep these things in mind) but somehow somewhere along the way, that didn't happen. Or it happened, and then it got overridden by another court who should not have.
Note to Cassidy: don't vote for the next guy either. It'ds as simple as that. Same thing to Cornyn. If Trump is so unstoppable, let him get around your vote. And if these people are so terrified of what happens if they don't vote Trump's way, they can always f*cking *resign*! Getting out is always an option my dudes.
I think we need to really start looking at Republicans as deeply damaged people or people with intrinsically low grade material. I mean, call me slow, but I think we've slowly eliminated all other explanations at this point.
