No, it's not Teflon. It's part of the Trump brand.

Trump is known to be shameless, dishonest and corrupt. He has been in the public spotlight for a long time, and by now we all know what he is.

The racist posts... the rambling & nonsensical soliloquies... the diatribes, the incoherent threats... and yes, even the sex crimes. These are all elements of the Trump brand. When he behaves badly, Donald Trump is merely burnishing his brand.

The fact that our fellow citizens voted him back into the White House is proof that there is something very, very wrong in our society.

I keep asking: Why is our country so messed up?

I believe there are two main causes: racism (it's always been there), and extreme income inequality (the spark that lit the match).

Other factors contribute, too: the mainstream media has been woefully unable to rise to the occasion; and social media is designed to nurture hysteria (truth be damned). Moreover, the billionaires are bankrolling candidates to support their financial interests at the expense of all else.

Bottom line: a lot of our fellow citizens are angry, un-informed, and easily manipulated... ripe for an opportunist like Donald Trump. He doesn't need to be slippery like Teflon, he's way beyond that by now.
