As Yemen descended into chaos, the US embassy closed and moved its operations to Saudi Arabia in 2015. His client, a naturalized US citizen, went to the makeshift embassy to try to get his son out of Yemen. This was in 2019.
The embassy employee, instead of helping him, accused him of fraudulently obtaining a visa to the US, confiscated his passport on the spot and stripped him of citizenship. Now the man is stranded in Saudi Arabia and his son in Yemen.
My attorney friend is finally seeing some breakthroughs after 5 years. But all that gain will probably lost once Trump takes over. He will probably have the Saudi government execute his client.
