I just read that it's expected to NOT pass the Senate vote.
Apparently the reason is people have done a really good job of calling out the true intent behind it and even some GOP Senators are apparently hesitant to vote yes.
THe bill as passed in the House, even REAL ID is NOT acceptable as a form of ID if you need a new or changed voter registration, only Federal ID and REAL ID apparently a state thing not a federal thing. ANd the version that passed DOES include the need for anybody whose last name doesn't match their birth certificate to get special documentation and approvals to register, so any married woman who took their husbands name
