We're going through a major culture change here and setting up for future excellence. If we only get five wins, but we're continually improving and buying in, I'll be ok. If we get five wins, but barely beat teams we should stomp, and absolutely get crushed by the good teams, that will be a disaster. Context matters.
That said, I already love Coach Chesney and what he is trying to do, and I don't believe for a minute that we won't be miles better this year than last. So far, he's beaten every expectation, so I wouldn't be surprised if we manage 9 wins, but I won't expect it or even 8.
My personal expectation is 6 wins and a bowl game, which is a massive improvement over the last couple years.
