I heard McCord wanted some money because when he signed during early days of NIL, there wasn't so much money going around. But I also heard Ryan Day was looking for a scapegoat for his Michigan losses and that combined w/ McCord's demands made perfect sense to let him go. I would be surprised Will Howard wasn't promised the job when he showed up at Columbus. He was a top transfer QB and had options. There is no way he would risk damaging his NFL stock by potentially losing his job and there is no way Ryan Day would accept the scrutiny of starting an unproven QB over the top QB in the transfer portal.
