Loya stats fell by roughly 50% in catches and yards compare to 2023, he played the whole season, not half. 29 receptions is terrible for a slot receiver that runs primarily short-medium routes. JMS had 22 catches and most of us would agree he largely disappeared in most games. When he came on board I thought we are getting a 60 reception+ stud like he did at Cal, turned out his total at his two years with us barely matched his lone season at Cal.

I never said our wr transfers were good. In fact, we didn't do much offensively through the portal. But between Titus, Kwazi and a healthy Rico, our Top 3 starting receivers are solid. Maybe the wr transfers can provide some depth. If we run 4-5 receiver sets, you think our OL will give our qb enough time to check down on every receiver?? It is likely qb only have time to check top 3 before getting pressured and looking to dump off to a rb or TE.

Again, if your OL doesn't block, it doesn't matter how good your rb is. We saw it with Jeanty against Penn State. If rb don't have time to accelerate, all the speed and power just goes out the window. Our OL was terrible, Carlin, DiGiorgio should not be playing D1 football. People like to blame rb because it's a single person and yrds is a stat but blame really goes on the OL. Football is decided in the trenches, you want to fix a football team, fix the line.
