Like for the pros who pay state taxes for a pro rata share of pay when they play in those states. Ans, state taxes obviously do vary from nothing to Californias high rate.
I do think the nil recipients do some token thing to get the money, so I doubt the jock tax will apply.
When schools start paying, states outside of home territory may try and claim taxes under the jockey tax rules.
