Stopping Minnesota's rushing attack

Teams had no problem stopping Minnesota's feeble running attack . . . until they faced the vaunted USC defense.

Power conference opponents:


Opponent  yards rushing (yards per rush)vs. North Carolina  79 (2.4)
vs. Iowa            79 (3.8)
vs. Michigan        38 (1.5)
vs. USC            193 (4.8)

In fact, USC is #102 in the nation in yards per rush defense (5.0). Guess what? UCLA is #27 (3.4). Maybe the Trojans should hire Malloe to help them improve their rushing defense.

Also, USC is #109 in the nation is sacks per game. Where are those brillint defensive schemes that produced so many sacks for UCLA last season? Maybe they should have given Latu the $2 million to stay in school and transfer to USC.
