Rumors were Chip was interviewing for coordinator positions in the NFL (Raiders, Commanders, maybe Seahawks) and not getting them.
The dominoes fell in place when BC Head Coach Jeff Hafley decided to leave unexpectedly to be Defensive Coordinator with Green Bay Packers. Bill O'Brien, who was just hired to be Ohio State's Offensive Coordinator bolts to take the head job at Boston College. And there is Chip who coached Ryan Day at New Hampshire and had him as a position coach with the 49ers.
Now we will hear about the work Chip is doing with Ohio State's talent and defending national champion Michigan is definitely down this season. I can't see them beating Ohio State for a fourth consecutive season, which will relieve some pressure on Day.
