Agree that yards per rush can be inflated by one long run, but that's often the case. But giving up one long run can be more damaging than an extra yard or two on the short ones. Emery's big run led to a TD a few plays later.
Hasn't UCLA fans big complaint about our defense in recent years been that we give too much cushion to the receivers?
