If it were a gamble rather than bureaucratic incompetence, I'd support it. It wasn't a calculated gamble. It was incompetence. Jarmond was on vacation for big chunks of the Chip contract episode in Dec. 2023. Morgan Center failed to proactively manage the most important position on the their most important revenue generating team.

They don't know how to run a business. They don't know how to earn money through performance. They only know how to receive TV rights gifts of money not based upon their performance.

Rather than fire Chip and pay his $4mm buyout, Morgan Center finessed the situation, leaving Chip without an extension in Dec. 2023 and hoping he'd stick around until Dec. 2024 when his buyout expired so they could then fire him without penalty. Instead he walked, as anyone would under those circumstances.

Incompetence is not the same as a "gamble". Gambling means you calculate the odds of winning and losing and the associated rewards and penalties and you place a bet accordingly. None of that happened with Chip.

We need to get the pensioners at Morgan Center out of the program completely, but if that ever happens it will be, again, Ucla reacting in panic to economic pressures in CFB that they will not anticipate.

Our leadership is so deficient, so chronically and deeply bad that fans have numbed themselves to it.

Go to other parts of the country and see how truly successful football programs are promoted and administered by their university sponsors. You'll see energy, drive, leadership and innovation that has been lacking from Morgan Center for 25 years and counting.

We are sinking to the bottom of the pond.
