We were not good before NIL, and we are still not good. The only thing that changes are the theories and excuses as to why we are not good. What side of the field we stand on, training table, academics, bad fans, the quarter system, playing in Pasadena, we've heard it all over the years.
Pretty soon we're going to be hearing how travel distance is the reason we're not good. And then of course the cold weather is why we're not good.
Someone will post that an on-campus stadium is feasible. Others will shout that person down as an idiot. People will call to fire the coach, while some will stand by the coach no matter what. Academics will be debated. The commitment of the Morgan Center will be called into question.
It's all a big cycle. Right now we've cycled back to 2003.
