I don't think your dire warnings about the insolvency of the future are very meaningful. Let's say that astronomers discover that there is a MASSIVE meteor that is going to bull's eye the earth in 20 years. It's way too big to knock off course with nukes. 95% of all life on the planet is going to die. It's a massive extinction event. Is there any society that isn't completely fvcked in that scenario?
And is there any other moral thing to do than to enjoy the time we each have left?
I guess some might try to terraform Mars (ie, start following college soccer). But I say fvck that. I'm an American. And an earthling. I'll live and die on this hill.
