Reading through the post below, I found it interesting how differently everyone views both the returning players and the newcomers. That's one of the things I enjoy most this time of year. There are so many different perspectives. Here are my thoughts on each player:
Perry – I think he'll be solid and won't have any issues making the transition to being the full-time point guard.
Petty – I think he's going to surprise a lot of people.
Kusturica – I may be in the minority, but I don't think he'll be as good as many expect right away. It could take most of the season for him to fully adjust to the college game.
Dailey – More of the same. He'll be inconsistent, with some outstanding games mixed in with a few duds.
Booker – Also somewhat inconsistent, but I expect him to be noticeably better than he was last season.
Freeny – A solid role player who will bring defense, toughness, and hopefully a more reliable jump shot.
Williams – I think he'll have a very good season in his role.
Robinson – A strong defender and my pick to be the first player off the bench.
Macura – I don't see him getting a lot of playing time.
Jovic – I think he'll be the first big off the bench, and I have a feeling fans are really going to like his game.
I don't know enough about the other freshmen to have much of an opinion yet, but I expect their minutes to be limited. Philon might be the exception and could carve out some playing time early.
