...it was with the Jameson incident. It was a self-inflicted blow right where he might be weakest, his sideline demeanor and the way it looks, displays the program and how he runs it (in the public mind, that is). It doesn't matter if he's a great guy the rest of the time, he really cares about the players, and they love him other than during some games. The public can't see all of that. Whatever behavior CMC exhibits during the came extrapolates in the public mind to that being just the way CMC is. That all added very poorly with the somewhat boring playing style he coaches.
