My thought is that you cannot judge the temper of the fan base by the messsage boards. Those who post are not representative of the fan base, and I don't think the big donors are spending their time on BZ, BRO, or Bruin Gold.
Maybe Tracy talks a lot to the big donors or hears stuff that is shared with Ken Graiwer of Men of Westwood.
I would guess that if you frequent the message board of just about any team, the posts will be much more negative than fan sentiment in general.
Of course, that is true in all areas. There is a very vocal minority who are often throught to reflect the larger population.
