5 for 5 hadn't passed yet he really couldn't come back to UCLA. He still is applying, there's a lawsuit that allowed 15 guys to come back for one more year but Dent was not part of the lawsuit he's just now looking to piggy back off that and get another year which is totally reasonable.
UCLA not being interested is likely because as has been reported, we basically gave the keys to the car to Perry, to bring back Dent now would not sit well with Perry's camp and if I'm UCLA I'm looking at it which is better, 1 more year of Dent, or 2 more years of Perry since IMO it's unlikely Trent will be draftable after his junior year either.
So as much as I love Dent, if that is the choice I too would pass on Dent.
He'll have options I'm sure UNM would love him back, Gonzaga just lost their PG to Europe and they were bidding on Kustarica so Dent would be a nice fit there too.
I hope it works for Dent I hope he gets approved, Skyy apparently never did but his situation was different.
