I've followed a few former Bruins overseas over the years. I remember keeping tabs on Lorenzo Mata's career. He spent most of his time playing in Latin America and was a pretty big deal in Puerto Rico for a while, helping his team win a league championship. He also played for several teams in Mexico, but his career mostly followed the pattern you see with a lot of overseas players-looking for the next best opportunity every year. Some of these guys even play in multiple leagues within the same calendar year. Unfortunately, injuries eventually caught up with Lorenzo.

More recently, I've followed Jordan Adams. He's played in Syria, spent time with several teams in Mexico, had a stint in Venezuela, and I believe he's now in the Philippines.

J.R. Henderson is one of the exceptions I can think of. He built a long, successful career in Japan and really established himself there. But for most players, the reality is bouncing from country to country, chasing the next contract and the next opportunity. From what I've read, they can make pretty good money doing it.
