the picture for Nikola Kurturica. Here he's listed as 6'7." So he's anywhere from 6'7" to 6'9" and either 17 or 18 years old. This whole play for pay system is getting out of hand. These guys are waving anywhere from $5,000,000 to $6,000,000 (or maybe more) for a teenager who is a good young Euro basketball player but untested at the American D1 college level.

Supposedly the big selling point for this guy is that he's going to need to play two years of college ball before he can qualify for the NBA draft. So, because he's so young these grown men college basketball coaches are in a bidding war for him because they'll have a chance to have him for two years instead of one. Kentucky just paid a reported similar price tag for a guy who plays the same position. How do these guys coach someone they have already drooled over and gave him the entire farm to come and play for(?) them. Maybe that's backwards.

How long before these young millionaires or the string pullers behind the scenes start dictating who their coach is going to be and what kind of offense they are going to run? How long before the college presidents are bending their knees to these guys? Where are the institutions of higher learning and their lofty ideals in all this stinking morass as they race each other for the big payoffs and the end of this compromised rainbow? Insanity anyone?
