I also wish he would have stayed. I also wished he would have played more, even tho there were many matchups that were clear to me that he had to sit.
But, where I do disagree with you...........is all about you and your predominant posted views about Mara. I don't think, in your numerous posts about him, that you even remotely talked about his (in your own words *NOW*) 'clear defects'. I would unequivocally state, based on your own posts about him, that you viewed him as a
game-changing high-tier player in the B10, which is absurd.
Contained in just your 2nd paragraph above, is a series of your *current* evaluations of him, which show your cognitive dissonance about Aday. You start off with:
"I don't think Mara will be an All American". To even throw up such a fantastical thought mirrors your cognitive dissonance. You then talk about him playing 20+ mins/gm, which he might well do. But, that is hardly a benchmark for the player you (re- me speaking conservatively, based on your posts all season long) deem to be a game-changer on a national prism. You then conclude by saying: "He will be more than serviceable."
The above illustrates a *NOW* downslide whistle of evaluations. far afield from the Aday fanboy persona you consistently personified on this Board all season long.
Again, it's perfectly fine to disagree. But, I viewed you, among some 5-10 active posters here who championed Aday sans almost any equivocation, as a B10 star. In contrast to your ***NOW*** lowering the bar by saying: "Maybe he sucks next year," I don't think anyone feels he will suck next yr. But, I don't think you realize, in your repeated own words, the victory platform on which you elevated him.............unless you feel it is fair play to throw his game log into a bucket of bleach...........viz, his statistical reality without the subjective pom poms.
