I don’t agree.
I see his defects clearly. Including some of those you mentioned. Having said that I think he should have played more. I know we disagree on that point. But it’s not just me and half the board you disagree with. Much of the media agrees as well. I would say most importantly Mara and his camp feel that way.
I don’t think Mara will be an All American. My guess is he will have plenty of games where he looks overmatched. By the same token he will also have the type of games he had against Wisconsin. But barring injury he will play +20 minutes a game. He will be more than serviceable.
I thought he should have played more and said so from the beginning of the year. In January, I said if he were my son, I would consider a move. From my perspective I feel i read it right. I understand others may look at it differently.
I reserve the right to be wrong. Maybe he sucks next year. I’m just speculating as most of us are.
