In 2009-10, the team missed the tournament.
In 2010-11, they reached the Sweet 16.
In 2011-12, they missed the tournament again.
In 2012-13, they won the conference but suffered a first-round exit, partially due to an injury to their best player.
Right now, Cronin is not on track to match that level of success.
While the unofficial reasons for that coach’s dismissal included issues with player discipline and damaged recruiting relationships, the underlying issue was simple: securing top talent.
If similar concerns arise with Cronin, it could ultimately lead to a change.
