It seems inevitable that the opportunities for money making in what we now call college sports are going to be inhibited by their connection to universities. At that point, when it is no longer financially profitable for these sports teams to be tied to university the cord will be broken. Maybe once upon a time college sports wasn't all about money making, but it sure seems to be racing toward that now. Whether this is good or bad isn't the question any more. That debate is over. It's happening.
