I know some people here don't like Cronin.

I respect that. There are things I too don't like. But, IMO, no one can deny that he's a good coach.

He's been coaching for 20+ years at three different schools. He has won at each school. He has won conference championships everywhere he's gone. He has almost 500 career wins. Over his entire career he's finished first 4 times, 2nd 6 times, 3rd 2 times, and 4th 2 times. He has an overall winning % of 69%. At UCLA he has an overall winning percentage of 70% and an overall conference winning percentage of 77%.

In his 20 seasons he has taken his teams to the NCAA tournament 14 times with one year having no tournament. He took one team to the CBI. And once to the NIT. That's sixteen years of post season play in nineteen years. His combined post season record is something like 18-17. Not great, not good, but not bad either. And, most of his teams have been comprised of 3 star level players. If all of this was easy more people would have similar accomplishments, but that's not the case.

A coach, any coach, doesn't accomplish all of what Cronin has accomplished without developing teams. And no coach develops teams without developing players. Now maybe there's things one doesn't like about Cronin like his personality or his demeanor, but that's not about his coaching. Maybe one doesn't like some of his coaching style, but one can't deny his accomplishments. Clearly the way he coaches has merit as evidenced by the results of his methods. It is clear to me that he develops players and teams and anyone fair minded would also have to come to the same conclusion.
