At the moment, I am not sure we understand (as a team) the level of mental and physical toughness that is necessary to be a top team. It is hard because most of these kids are coming from losing teams so there is no ingrained culture. Using DA as an example … he has one steal in six games (and his deflections are down) … he also is averaging less than a rebound a game (on a team that relies heavily on its guards to grab boards … he also has a very low number of fouls (not a necessarily a bad thing unless it is coming from a lack of defensive aggression). If we are going to develop into a really good team DA really needs to engage, be aggressive, and mix it up on a nightly basis. Our bigs need to do the same thing … in other words flip the aggressive switch and play that way the entire game. Finally, I do agree that DA is the key right now. Bill Walton is not walking in the door and our bigs are what they are … but DA can reengage now and pull this team together. You have to learn to win and play hard on every play. Go Bruins.
