The discussion was about having some big time opponents on the home non-con schedule. If we were still in the Pac-12 and brought in any of these teams, we shouldn't be all that excited. As a season ticket holder with these ridiculously high ticket prices and required donations to get decent seats, they owe us some of these games against highly rated opponents.
The conference home schedule may be tougher than in recent years, but only because while none of these teams should be really good, none of them are bad either.
This also wasn't just based on last season. As I explained, none are projected as top-25 teams in early rankings by all the major sites, except Ohio State which showed up on one. It's the same criteria for us and we are ranked despite last season.
