Why do you think the Lakers owe him this? Is it for the singular title with the giant asterisk he has delivered to LA since his arrival? Is it revolving door of coaches and contract buyouts that he has pushed the team into? The Lakers have paid LBJ a ton of money and arguably haven't gotten a ton in return, that is if actually winning is the measure.
It would be different if Junior's reps (i.e. Lebron) hadn't also made it clear that he would not entertain playing on a two way contract, essentially forcing a new team mascot who the coach will now feel pressured to play whether he is ready, deserving or not. Bring Your Kid To Work Day is a cute fun tradition that isn't supposed to be taken seriously.
