You're still missing the bigger point about most of these players. Alford is the one who first recruited these guys to UCLA. If not for Alford, some (or all) of these guys don't even end up at UCLA. You're wanting to give credit to Cronin for convincing guys to stay at a school they're already attending, and it's freaking UCLA! Not many guys left Duke for other schools when Coach K retired.
Also, it's VERY telling that Cronin's own players didn't follow him to UCLA, which is a MUCH better school than Cincinnati, by every conceivable metric.
Anyway...you like him; I don't. If he ever wins a Big 10 title or gets anywhere near the Final Four again, I'll be very, very surprised. Think he'll get fired before he even has a chance.
