the 26-0 Women's water polo team, top ranked and top seeded, won our 123rd NC over Cal (that would be Cal athletics brought to you by UCLA) in Cal's own pool 7-4. The three stars were two freshmen and a sophomore, also nice.
Of the three teams we had with legit NC hopes, we have now won 2 NCs (men's Volleyball and women's Water Polo) and recorded one runner-up finish (Beach Volley Ball). The one remaining team with a shot at a NC is Softball which started the season 8-6 and since then is 29-4 (thanks for the stat Lafong) has been awarded the #6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. We host our own Regional beginning Friday playing Grand Canyon which knocked us out of the tournament last year. Also in our region are San Diego State and a very dangerous Virginia Tech team which features one of the nation's top pitchers.
Now back to the next three and a half months which figure to be very quiet on the board as we wait to see the results of this off season
