I assume this applies to anyone who has played in a game regardless of being on scholarship. The NCAA defines “student athlete” as an individual who engages in, is eligible to engage in, or may be eligible in the future to engage in, any intercollegiate sport.

A new NCAA transfer rule will allow all undergraduate athletes to transfer and play immediately if they meet specific academic requirements, as the Division I Council on Wednesday approved emergency legislation announced by the NCAA . . .
