There's no doubt that is the key and the only way dems will ever regain power. I don't agree that they don't really want it, but they have light years to travel to achieve that goal. Placating and reaching those hard core masses and the progressive wing of the party with a message that draws in both at the same time seems a tall mountain to climb.
