The Official U.S. Naval Forces Central Command took to X Sunday morning to condemn a recent report that service members aboard the USS Boxer have been begging family members to send feminine hygiene supplies amid a lengthy deployment.

"Reports emerging of USS Boxer experiencing a shortage in hygiene products for women in uniform are FALSE," central command wrote.

"The crew has been at sea for less than two months since the last port call, and they are stocked with feminine products, including at the ship store and in medical offices on board."

This denial came in direct response to recent reporting from Meidas Touch News that conditions on the assault ship mirrored those on the USS Abraham Lincoln, where doctors warn sailors risk "losing their minds" as they try to hurl themselves overboard.

On Sunday, the Meidas Touch social media account responded to the rebuttal with a statement that the news outlet stood by its reporting.

"We’ve seen these same blanket denials for months about the dire conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln," the statement said. "Our reporting was right then. It is right now."

Aaron Parnas, their reporter, also said he stood by his report.

"The reporting is based on accounts from aboard the USS Boxer," he wrote. "We stand by it full-stop."

Earlier this week, Parnas shared on social media the message he said he received from a family member of someone aboard the Boxer:

"Family and friends on the Boxer have been out so long and aren't receiving care packages," the message stated. "They were begging us to send them extra pads and tampons so they could share them out but then none of our packages got delivered."
