If Anthropic were losing only $5 billion a year, there would be a huge celebration.
OpenAI is expected to lose around $38 billion in 2025. Anthropic losing roughly six times less, with a realistic path to break-even within two or three years, would be a dramatically better financial story.
That kind of improvement could significantly boost the stock prices of companies that own stakes in Anthropic, because investors would suddenly have a much more credible path to realizing value from those investments.
