The average price per gallon of gas in the United States climbed back over $4 on Wednesday, according to data from GasBuddy, as the wars in Iran and Ukraine continue to wreak havoc on energy prices.
That is the highest price gas has been at this point in the year, according to GasBuddy gas price tracker Patrick De Haan, who in a post on X said, “the national average has never been above $4/gal after Aug. 12 in any previous year—ever.”
