My take is he knows full well I'm right about what Trump tried to do etc. But because he's a Republican, he is going to vote for R no matter what. So he's lying to me, and himself, to justify why he's still going to vote for Trump.
I see that with lots of people they know Trump is completely lying but if they don't admit Trump lost the election, they can justify all of it by saying he thought he won.
It's disingenuous which is why I told him he's abandoned his ethics.
